Discretionary Housing Payment (Rent Deposit / Rent in Advance) Application Form

Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) may be awarded to help meet deposits or rent in advance. There are limited funds of DHP available so this type of award will only be made to those most in need. You should only apply for a DHP to help with deposit or rent in advance once you have found a property and the landlord agrees that you can rent it. You can only apply if you have a current claim for Housing Benefit or receive the Housing Costs element of Universal Credit at an address in the Rushcliffe Borough Council Area. If you receive either of these benefits but live outside of the Rushcliffe area, please apply directly to the Local Authority your current address falls under.

If you meet the criteria above and wish to apply, please provide bank statements showing transactions over a recent 2 month’s period for all accounts held in support of your application.

If you do not have access to a scanner or cannot upload the documents, you can provide the statements in person at the West Bridgford Customer Contact Point, West Bridgford Library, Bridgford Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 6AT or at one of our contact points. Or alternatively, you can post them to Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7YG.
